The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has requested the Federal Government to urgently bail out the country's broadcast industry from total collapse due to the economy hardship.
The Secretary General of BON, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose made the call on Smailz Radio Breakfast Show on Monday.
Speaking on the topic "Navigating the Future: Addressing Economic Challenges in Nigeria's Broadcasting Industry", Dr Bamgbose noted that broadcast stations in the country are going through serious challenges and difficult periods.
He also highlighted some measures taken by BON to tackle problems facing the industry.
The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, the umbrella body for all private and public broadcasters in Nigeria, had in a communique after the 79th General Assembly called on the government to rescue the broadcast media from total collapse.
