In a surprising political shift, the factional chairman of the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Sikiru Ogundele has announced plans to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Citing discontent with the party's current leadership and unresolved internal conflicts, Dr. Ogundele criticized the 2023 governorship candidate of the party, Oladipupo Adebutu, of turning PDP to a branch of the Kensington Adebutu Foundation in the state.

Speaking with Smailz FM the factional leader described Adebutu’s 2027 governorship bid attempts as a collective insult to Ogun voters as he prepares to join the APC ranks.

According to him, the State Governor Dapo Abiodun is from the same Iperu-ward 3 in Ikenne Local Government Area within the Ogun East Senatorial District with Ladi Adebutu.
