Legal luminary Aare Afe Babalola has called on both federal and state governments to urgently reconstruct the dangerous Ado-Ijan Ekiti Road, which has been labeled a "death trap" for commuters. Babalola in a compelling address to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, made this urgent plea through the acting vice-chancellor of Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Professor Olasupo Ijabadeniyi, who highlighted the road's shocking state, noting that the university's founder has taken it upon himself to maintain the route for over a decade. While emphasizing the danger posed by the road's deplorable condition, Professor Ijabadeniyi also celebrated the university's recent achievement in the Times Higher Education rankings, where ABUAD was placed 84th globally, 3rd in Africa, and 1st in Nigeria for the fourth consecutive yeaHe attributed this success to Babalola's unyielding dedication to transforming ABUAD into a distinguished center of learning and excellence across various sectors including health, agriculture, and law.

Professor Ijabadeniyi criticized politicians for their neglect of critical infrastructure like the Ado-Ijan Ekiti Road, calling their pre-election promises into question as they continue to overlook pressing local issues once in office.
