The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 57 chairmanship seats and 375 out of 376 councillorship positions in the local government elections held across Lagos State on Saturday.

Announcing the results on Sunday, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) declared that the APC secured victories in all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of the state.

In a rare upset, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clinched a councillorship seat in Ward D of Yaba LCDA, where its candidate, Babatunde Dosunmu, defeated his APC rival. Dosunmu, a former APC member, had recently defected to the PDP shortly before the election.

LASIEC described the exercise as “largely peaceful,” despite concerns about low voter turnout and reports of irregularities in some areas.

The newly elected chairmen and councillors are expected to be sworn in later this month.

Below is a partial list of the declared chairmanship winners:

  • Bariga LGA – Busola Adedeji Bukola
