The Ogun State Government has announced that the final rites for the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, will be held today, July 14, at 4 p.m. at Ogbagba Court in Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode.

The late monarch, who passed on July 13 at the age of 91, is remembered for his influential leadership that spanned over 65 years.

In a tribute, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu highlighted Oba Adetona’s dignified service to his people, fostering progress in Ijebuland and across Nigeria, and underscored the lasting impact of his contributions in education and governance.

Residents have been encouraged to pray for the family during this period of mourning.
