Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed profound sadness over the death of HRM Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the esteemed Awujale of Ijebuland, who passed away yesterday (Sunday) at 91 after an impressive 65 years on the throne.

In a heartfelt statement from his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji praised the late monarch’s indelible legacies of service, cultural preservation, humility, and dedication to his people.

He further lamented the loss as a double tragedy for the nation, coinciding closely with the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Governor offered prayers for eternal peace for Oba Adetona and strength for his family, Ijebu indigenes, and the Ogun State government.
