Emeka Ugwuonye, the lawyer representing May Edochie in her ongoing marital dispute with actor Yul Edochie, has officially withdrawn his legal services, citing persistent harassment from May’s supporters.

In a statement posted by his law firm, Due Process Advocate (DPA), on Facebook, Ugwuonye said his team faced constant cyberbullying from members of the ‘May Nation’ fanbase. He claimed that the toxic behavior of some fans created an environment too hostile to continue the case effectively.

“My staff face daily abuse from May’s supporters—worse than what we experienced from Yul’s camp,” the statement read. “Queen May’s inability to manage the growing hostility from her supporters made our representation no longer viable.”

Ugwuonye emphasized that while May remains a victim of betrayal and forced polygamy, the firm can no longer function under the strain of online attacks. He added that DPA will fully cooperate with any new legal representatives May appoint.

Despite the fallout, he expressed respect for May, describing her as a “remarkable individual” deserving of justice.
