Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has died at the age of 54.
According to ABC NEWS, Warner drowned on Sunday off the coast of Cocles Beach in Limón, Costa Rica. Local authorities confirmed that he died from asphyxia caused by drowning after being caught in a rip current. His body was recovered on Sunday afternoon.
Born on August 18, 1970, Warner rose to fame as a teenager in the 1980s, starring alongside Bill Cosby in the iconic sitcom The Cosby Show. He made his television debut in 1982 in the series Matt Houston and went on to enjoy a diverse acting career spanning over four decades.
Most recently, Warner played a recurring role in the Fox medical drama The Resident, further showcasing his talent in dramatic roles.
His death marks a tragic loss to the entertainment world.
