The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has retained the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 27.5 percent.
The MPR ,which serves as a benchmark for interest rates in the country , remains unchanged for the third time in 2025.
The Governor of the CBN, Olayemi Cardoso, announced the decision on Tuesday during a press briefing at the conclusion of the committee’s 301st meeting held in Abuja.
Cardoso also revealed that the apex bank retained the asymmetric corridor around the MPR at +500/-100 basis points, along with other key monetary parameters.
He noted that the committee acknowledged the federal government’s efforts to improve national security, particularly in areas that affect food production and distribution.
