The Nigerian Official Selection Committee has announced the opening of submissions for Nigeria’s entry in the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.
According to a statement sent to PUNCH Online on Monday afternoon, filmmakers can submit their qualifying films between August 13 and September 12, 2025, via the official NOSC portal.
The statement read, “To be eligible, films must be feature-length, produced outside the United States, with at least 50% of dialogue in a language other than English. Nigerian Pidgin English is acceptable. Films must also include accurate English subtitles and meet AMPAS-approved technical specifications.
“The selected film will represent Nigeria at the Oscars on March 15, 2026, in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast live to over 200 territories worldwide.
“The NOSC is the sole body recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to select Nigeria’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category.”
