The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has called Remo Stars and Ikorodu City to an investigative hearing today following reports of fan clashes and alleged physical attacks during and after their Matchday 20 South West derby.
NPFL COO Davidson Owumi said the hearing will examine the causes of the incident and apply sanctions where necessary.
The fracas comes despite a prior reconciliation meeting between both clubs after their reverse fixture in December.
Remo Stars won Wednesday’s match 1-0 via Haruna Hadi, lifting them temporarily out of the relegation zone, while Shooting Stars beat Enyimba 3-0. Rivers United lead the NPFL table with 38 points.
