The Lagos State Government has announced the reopening of the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal from today following the successful clearance of waterways clogged by water hyacinth.

The terminal, closed since 20 October 2025 over navigational safety concerns, had temporarily diverted services to Ibeshe Terminal and Offin Jetty.

The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) confirmed that after safety assessments and consultations with the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), full operations have resumed.

Ferry operators are directed to adhere to safety and operational protocols while resuming normal services.
