The Federal Road Safety Corps is strengthening internal oversight to tackle extortion, misconduct, and declining discipline among its personnel.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, represented by Assistant Corps Marshal Elizabeth Akinlade, visited the Ogun Sector Command in Abeokuta to reinforce professionalism and accountability.

Senior officers have been tasked with mentoring staff, restoring command and control, and modeling ethical conduct.

The Corps warned that lapses such as abuse of authority and harassment undermine public trust, which is essential for achieving its life-saving mandate.

Ogun Sector Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin stressed that silence in the face of misconduct equates to complicity and emphasized that discipline safeguards both the Corps’ reputation and public confidence.
