Eleven members of the House of Representatives have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The lawmakers announced their defection during plenary, citing internal crises and unresolved leadership issues in their former parties.

Some of the defectors said they decided to join parties they believe would provide better political stability and support for their constituencies.
