United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has warned that the Middle East is being pushed to breaking point amid rising conflict in the region.

Speaking in Türkiye while receiving the Atatürk International Award for Peace, Guterres cited shipping attacks, rising oil prices, and a worsening humanitarian crisis.

He called for an immediate ceasefire, respect for international law, protection of civilians, and a return to diplomacy to resolve the conflict.
