Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has appointed Dahud Kehinde Shangodoyin as Acting Chairman of the Oyo State Electricity Regulatory Commission to accelerate the opening of the state’s electricity market.

Other acting members include Ayanniyi Taiwo as Secretary, Solomon Oyekunle as Technical Member, Abiodun Adedoja as Strategy Member, and Omolara Omoremi as Legal Member.

Shangodoyin said the appointments will help operationalise the commission under the Electricity Act 2023, enabling Oyo State to regulate its intrastate electricity market and attract private sector investment.

He added that substantive appointments will follow the passage of the Oyo State Electricity Market Bill.
