The Federal Road Safety Corps has ordered the nationwide deployment of personnel and operational logistics for its 2026 Eid-el-Fitr special patrol operations.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed said the operation will run from March 17 to March 22 to ensure safe travel and reduce road crashes during the festive period.
The Corps Public Education Officer, Felicia Kalu, said the exercise will feature 24-hour patrols on major highways, supported by rescue teams, ambulances, tow trucks, and patrol vehicles.
The initiative is aimed at managing the expected increase in vehicular movement as Muslim faithful travel to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with family and loved ones.
