LeBron James has made NBA history alongside his son Bronny James after the pair combined for a rare “son-to-father” assist in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 119–103 win over the Golden State Warriors.

As reported by BBC Sport on Friday, the moment came after Bronny, 19, made a key defensive play, stealing possession before quickly finding his father in transition. LeBron finished the sequence with an uncontested dunk, sparking attention for what is being described as a first-of-its-kind father-son assist in NBA history.

The play added a special highlight to an already strong performance from the 41-year-old Lakers star, who finished the game with 26 points and 11 assists as his team controlled the contest from start to finish.

Bronny contributed 10 points and three assists, continuing to build his role within the Lakers rotation while sharing the court with his father in a historic season for both players.

The pair had previously made headlines earlier in the campaign when they recorded the first father-to-son assist in NBA history during a game against the Brooklyn Nets, further cementing their unique place in league history.

The Lakers’ victory strengthens their position in the playoff race, while the Warriors continue to battle for seeding in a competitive Western Conference.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the New York Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics 112–106, with Josh Hart leading the way with 26 points in a crucial win for postseason positioning. The Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 128–114, while the Houston Rockets secured a 113–102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

In other results, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Washington Wizards 119–108, and the Indiana Pacers overpowered the Brooklyn Nets 123–94.

Meanwhile, the WNBA announced a major expansion plan, approving new franchises in Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia as the league continues its growth across the United States.
