The Federal Government has commenced the screening of Nigerians in South Africa who have indicated interest in returning home following renewed concerns over xenophobic tensions.
The exercise, taking place through the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria, is expected to cover thousands of citizens who have registered for possible evacuation.
Officials say hundreds of applications have already been processed as authorities work to ensure a safe and orderly return for affected Nigerians.
The government says arrangements are being coordinated with relevant agencies to facilitate transportation and reintegration for returnees.
