The Oyo State Government has confirmed that two people were killed and several others injured during a violent disturbance in the Ojoo area of Akinyele Local Government Area.

The clash, which disrupted business and forced residents to flee, reportedly followed the killing of a commercial tricycle rider during a dispute over a Point-of-Sale transaction.

Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, who visited the area on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, described the incident as a criminal act rather than an ethnic conflict.

He urged residents not to ethnicise the violence, while security personnel, including the police, military and Amotekun Corps, have restored calm and launched investigations.
