The Kebbi State Government says schools closed in communities affected by banditry will remain shut until the security situation improves, stressing that the safety of students and teachers remains its top priority.
The government said it would not reopen the schools until adequate security is guaranteed and warned against politicizing the decision, insisting that protecting lives comes first.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris, said Governor Nasir Idris has strengthened security operations through increased support for security agencies and backed regional efforts, including a proposed Joint Security Fund by northern governors to combat insecurity.
