The Federal Government has commenced the development of four solar hybrid mini-grid projects in Rivers State to provide electricity for over 13,000 households, businesses and public institutions.

The projects, with a combined capacity of 11.9 megawatts, are being implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency under the DARES programme with support from the World Bank.

REA Chief Executive Officer, Abba Aliyu, said the initiative will provide clean and affordable power, boost businesses, improve healthcare and education services, and support economic growth in beneficiary communities.
