The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, is set to meet with military veterans in a bid to avert a planned protest over the delay in implementing the approved Armed Forces pension increase.

A coordinator of the protest, retired Lieutenant Colonel Innocent Azubike Nass, said preparations for the demonstration are ongoing, but discussions with officials of the Ministry of Defence are expected to take place.

The veterans say they will proceed with the protest unless the government provides clear evidence that the pension increase and outstanding arrears will be paid.
