The Federal Character Commission has warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies against conducting recruitment, promotions or other personnel exercises without its involvement, saying defaulters will face sanctions.

The warning was issued during a meeting with the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation in Abuja, where the Commission said it was adopting a more proactive approach to enforcing the Federal Character Principle.

The FCC also said it would continue to engage federal agencies through collaboration but would invoke constitutional sanctions against institutions that deliberately violate its guidelines.
