US President Donald Trump has paid writer E. Jean Carroll more than 5.6 million dollars in damages three years after he was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming her in a civil case, her lawyers confirmed.
Carroll’s lawyers confirmed the payment followed a court order after the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear Trump’s appeal.
Trump has denied the allegations and continues to challenge a separate civil judgment that awarded Carroll nearly 84 million dollars in another defamation case.
