The Ogun State Government has warned industries to strengthen workplace safety, saying it will no longer tolerate situations where safety exists only on paper instead of being reflected in daily operations.
Environment Commissioner Ola Oresanya said inspections revealed a wide gap between documented safety policies and actual practices, stressing that industries must embrace continuous risk assessment, compliance and emergency preparedness.
The state also announced plans to establish an Ogun State Safety Commission to strengthen enforcement, improve oversight and promote international standards in occupational health, safety and environmental protection.
