The Nigerian Army says investigations have cleared a Niger Republic national, Aboubakar Muhammad Zein-Nur, of any links to terrorist groups after he was detained during a military operation in the North-East.

Operation HADIN KAI said the man was intercepted by troops following an attack at Cross Kauwa and was taken into custody for routine profiling due to the security situation along the border.

The military said intelligence findings confirmed he is a camel rearer from Bosso in Niger Republic with no terrorist affiliation, reaffirming its commitment to thorough security screening while respecting human rights and the rule of law.
