The Federal Government has ordered all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to fully comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023. MDAs are required to appoint Data Protection Officers, submit compliance reports and provide funding for data protection activities, with chief executives held personally responsible for compliance.
