Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has urged celebrities, influencers and members of the public to stop actions that encourage street urchins and roadside extortion.
Wahab said the government has repeatedly dislodged the groups from different parts of the state, but financial support and patronage often encourage them to return to the streets.
He called for greater public cooperation to tackle lawlessness, street begging and environmental nuisance, stressing that building a safer Lagos requires collective responsibility
