The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 10,000 personnel from 10 state commands to strengthen security ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

The personnel are drawn from Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos, Kwara, Edo, Kogi, Delta and the FCT, with about 1,000 officers from each command.

They will complement existing personnel across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The NSCDC has also deployed specialised units for intelligence gathering, crime prevention, crowd control and protection of critical assets, with security coverage extended to voters, electoral officials, observers and journalists.
