Nigeria’s Flying Eagles suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Burkina Faso in the WAFU B U-20 Championship final yesterday.

Burkina Faso dominated from the start, scoring three goals within the opening 15 minutes before adding a fourth, while Nigeria managed only a consolation goal.

The victory hands Burkina Faso the region’s sole ticket to the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana, which will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 U-20 World Cup.
