Nigeria’s Super Falcons still have a chance to qualify for the 2027 Women’s World Cup despite their 1-nil quarter-final defeat to Cameroon at the 2026 WAFCON.

The loss means Nigeria missed out on the four automatic World Cup tickets reserved for the semi-finalists, but they remain in contention through the African play-offs.

The Super Falcons will face South Africa next week, with the four defeated quarter-finalists competing for two places in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament.
