The Lagos State Government has renewed its crackdown on the illegal use of dealer number plates by motorists and vehicle dealers.

The Ministry of Transportation says dealer plates are strictly for test drives, inspections, vehicle delivery and movement of unregistered vehicles, and must not be used for routine private transportation.

The Vehicle Inspection Service has already impounded 175 vehicles for violating the regulations, with offenders facing confiscation of plates, further investigation and possible prosecution.
