Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has returned home after spending more than 10 weeks abroad, ending growing speculation over his health and whereabouts.
The 93-year-old leader arrived in Yaoundé from Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday and was welcomed by supporters of his ruling party.
Biya had left Cameroon in June for what authorities described as a private stay in Europe.
His prolonged absence had raised questions about his ability to govern and the country’s succession plans.
