African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar says he will only participate in debates ahead of the 2027 elections if President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, are also present.
Atiku’s position was disclosed by his spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, who said debates should allow both the government and opposition parties to present their policies to Nigerians.
Okonkwo criticized debates involving only opposition candidates, describing the arrangement as unacceptable and accusing the APC-led administration of avoiding scrutiny.
