Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have busted an alleged baby factory in the Mowe area of the state, rescuing two pregnant women and four children.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the raid followed intelligence on alleged human trafficking and illegal adoption activities at the facility, adding that six suspects, including an attending nurse, were arrested.
He said further investigation led operatives to a hospital where a woman who recently gave birth was found, but her newborn was reportedly missing.
The command said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation, as efforts continue to locate the missing baby and prosecute anyone found culpable.
