Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has raised concern over the rising cases of banditry and kidnapping across the South-West, following a security alert by the Department of State Services, DSS.
The group urged authorities to take the warning seriously after the DSS alerted of planned attacks on worship centres, schools, markets and motor parks in Osun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, also cited recent attacks and kidnappings in parts of the region, urging the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to curb terrorism and banditry.
