The Office of the Vice President has clarified Kashim Shettima’s comment that only six of the 19 northern governors supported President Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid.

Shettima’s media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, said the Vice President was referring specifically to political consultations and alignments before the APC presidential primary in June 2022.

Nkwocha said northern APC governors rallied behind Tinubu after the primary and contributed to his 2023 election victory.

He added that Shettima regrets any interpretation suggesting otherwise
