The Lagos State Government has deployed additional traffic personnel along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway following a gridlock that reportedly trapped motorists and commuters for over 12 hours.
The congestion, affecting Kara Bridge, Long Bridge, Magboro and Berger, was blamed on a fallen truck, construction work and multiple crashes. Officials say the truck has been cleared.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Olawale Musa, urged motorists to avoid driving against traffic and consider alternative routes, as Lagos and Ogun traffic agencies intensify efforts to restore smooth movement.
