Senate President Godswill Akpabio has clarified that he is not acting as Nigeria’s President amid questions over President Bola Tinubu’s absence from the country.

Speaking in Akwa Ibom State, Akpabio said President Tinubu remains in charge of the government despite being on a working leave in France and Vice President Kashim Shettima attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Senate President dismissed reports of a power vacuum, insisting that he remains Senate President and that there is no presidential vacancy.
