Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo says Nigerians are getting petrol at a lower price than motorists in the United Kingdom, where he said a litre costs over three thousand naira after conversion.
Okpebholo made the claim at the “Operation Rescue Benin-Asaba Road” event, saying the Federal Government’s economic reforms are difficult but will eventually yield results.
He also backed President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying Nigeria would soon reach a “cruising level” as reforms continue.
Official UK data puts the average petrol price at 195.53 pence per litre as of September 21, 2026.
