Cameroon also began their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Comoros as David Roy Nyengue and Bryan Mbeumo put the Lions ahead before Namaso sealed the win.

Elsewhere, Tunisia were held to a 1-1 draw by Uganda, while DR Congo defeated Equatorial Guinea 2-nil, Libya drew 2-2 with Botswana, and Sierra Leone lost 2-3 to Zimbabwe.

For today’s fixtures, Mozambique will take on Senegal, Tanzania versus Guinea Bissau, Gambia versus Somalia, Rwanda versus Liberia, Nigeria versus Madagascar, Malawi versus South Sudan, Sudan versus Ethiopia, Togo will battle Burundi, while Burkina Faso will face Benin Republic and Morocco faces Gabon.
