Also, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, saying rising food, fuel and transport costs are putting pressure on Nigerian households.

In a statement by his campaign council, Atiku cited an IMF assessment which, according to him, acknowledged improved macroeconomic indicators but noted difficult living conditions, including poverty and food insecurity.

He said recent fuel-price increases had further strained household budgets, with petrol prices reportedly reaching about 1,400 naira per litre in Lagos and Abuja and higher in parts of northern Nigeria, while diesel exceeded 2,000 naira.
