Kwara, Ekiti And Oyo Declare Monday Work-Free For Teachers’ Day

The Kwara, Ekiti and Oyo State governments have declared Monday, October 5, 2026, work-free for teachers to enable them participate in activities marking World Teachers’ Day.

The three state governments commended teachers for their contributions to education and human capital development, while reaffirming commitments to their welfare and professional growth.

In Ekiti, day students have been directed to stay at home on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Kebbi praised teachers for their resilience and commended Governor Nasir Idris for efforts to improve their welfare and working conditions.
