The Senate has postponed its two-day National Security Summit scheduled for October 12 and 13, following the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele said the decision was taken in honour of the 32 officers and crew members who died in the crash and in line with the three-day national mourning declared by President Bola Tinubu.

The summit was expected to bring together key stakeholders to examine Nigeria’s security challenges and develop measures to protect lives and property.

Bamidele said a new date would be announced later.
