Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has appointed Kabiru Jelani as the state’s new Statistician-General following the promotion of his predecessor, Mu’azu Jibril Guraguri, to Permanent Secretary.

The state Head of Service, Shehu Baraya, said the appointment would ensure continuity in statistical administration to support evidence-based policymaking, development planning and resource allocation.

In a separate move, Lawal has approved the redeployment of 19 permanent secretaries across ministries, departments and agencies to broaden their experience, improve accountability and strengthen service delivery.
