Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has urged wealthy and influential Nigerians to use their resources and positions to improve lives rather than oppress others.
He made the appeal in Ibadan during the inauguration of the Joseph and Esther Homes for Senior Citizens and the launch of Built from the Break, a book written by Nollywood actress Shola Shobowale, who founded the facility.
Makinde commended her for providing elderly people with a safe and dignified environment.
The governor also promised to extend the access road to the home and install solar-powered streetlights, stressing that initiatives that directly improve people's lives often have lasting impact.
