Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s academic record, insisting that he graduated with a first-class degree in Accounting from Chicago State University in the United States.
Alausa said he lived in Chicago for nearly 30 years, visited the university several times and personally met people he described as Tinubu’s former classmates.
However, while the university’s records confirm Tinubu graduated in 1979 with Accounting as his major, they do not specify a first-class classification.
Alausa also described the President as a genius and defended his performance in office amid renewed scrutiny of his educational credentials ahead of the 2027 elections.
