Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar says he will challenge the Federal High Court judgment nullifying the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, at the Court of Appeal.

Atiku described the ruling as an attempt to weaken the opposition party and frustrate his 2027 presidential ambition.

He also questioned why the case was reopened despite an earlier judgment he said had upheld the Mark-led leadership.

The former Vice-President alleged that the timing of the judgment was aimed at disrupting the party’s growing support, particularly in Northern Nigeria.

He, however, urged supporters to remain peaceful, insisting that the ADC’s nationwide campaign would continue despite the legal setback.
