Nigerian athletics star Favour Ofili has switched her international allegiance to Turkey, following her frustrations with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).

Despite meeting the qualification metrics, Ofili was not listed for the 100m event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Criticizing the AFN on social media, she questioned if World Athletics should hold national federations accountable for denying athletes opportunities.

She managed to compete in the 200m at the Paris Games, finishing sixth, a disappointing outcome for her. Reports confirm that her switch to represent Turkey was finalized on May 31, 2025.
